Colorado Wildflowers - Pink

In 2010, I began photographing wildflowers on my trail runs in the foothills and on my occasional hikes in the mountains. My favorite pink wildflowers are Rosy Paintbrush, Fireweed and Colorado Locoweed. I continue to discover wildflowers to add to my photo collection.

In 2014, I saw Kinnikinnick on the Little Scraggy/Colorado Trail near Pine. It is actually a low growing shrub. In 2014, the Spring Beauties were really gorgeous in the foothills.

In 2015, I saw Tufted Evening Primrose on the Bear Creek Trail and near the Pence Park trail head. The Eastern Colorado Wildflower page said that the flower "arises directly from the basal rosette of leaves." The flowers are normally white but turn pink when the bloom fades.
