In 2014, I saw Kinnikinnick on the Little Scraggy/Colorado Trail near Pine. It is actually a low growing shrub. In 2014, the Spring Beauties were really gorgeous in the foothills.
In 2015, I saw Tufted Evening Primrose on the Bear Creek Trail and near the Pence Park trail head. The Eastern Colorado Wildflower page said that the flower "arises directly from the basal rosette of leaves." The flowers are normally white but turn pink when the bloom fades.
